What's new

Product updates for riders and Groups, newest first.

  1. Everyone

A homepage for riders and Groups

The homepage now speaks to Groups as well as riders, a new page compares Riding Places with commute measurement platforms, and the employer page shows how it works alongside the schemes you already run.

  2. Groups

Pricing in the menu, and answers for Groups

Pricing is now in the menu, the Group pages answer common questions about getting people riding, the cost and the free trial, and a new page compares Riding Places with running it on a spreadsheet.

  3. Riders

Choose what happens to your Strava rides

When you disconnect Strava, you now choose: remove the rides that came from Strava, or keep them along with everything they earned. Removal waits 7 days, and reconnecting in that time keeps everything.

  4. Riders

Your name carries over from Sign in with Apple

New accounts made with Sign in with Apple now keep the name Apple shares with us, instead of starting blank.

  5. Groups

Group setup walks you through each step

New Groups are guided through the setup steps in Settings one at a time, and the highlight moves on as each step is saved.

  6. Groups

Location Ramble numbers count only qualifying rides

On a location Ramble's Data page, rides, distance, CO2 and points now come only from the rides that qualified for that Ramble.

  7. Riders

Leaving a Group keeps what you earned

If you leave a Group, everything you earned with it stays. Rides while you're away don't count for it, and if you rejoin you confirm its Rambles again.

  8. Riders

    See that you're taking part

Once you confirm a Ramble, its page and card now say you're taking part and your rides count.

  9. Riders

Join during a ride, and the ride counts

Join a Group and confirm its Ramble at any point during a ride, and that whole ride counts.

  10. Riders

    App 1.0.31

Your ride's start time now comes from the moment you tap Start.

  11. Everyone

    Faster pages

Our website pages load faster, thanks to much smaller images.

  12. Groups

    New Groups start private

New Groups are private by default, with an access code to share, and setup asks who can join.

  13. Groups

    Metric or Imperial for Groups

Group accounts can now pick Metric or Imperial units in Settings, and every Group screen follows that choice.

  14. Riders

    Suggested Groups and Rambles

The app and website now suggest Groups and Rambles picked by our team.

  15. Riders

    One ride, counted once

If the app and Strava both record the same ride, we now keep both copies and count the ride once. You choose which source wins in Settings.

  16. Everyone

Riding Places launches in the United States

Riders and Groups in the US can now join, alongside the UK.

  17. Groups

    Simpler Group pricing

Group accounts are now priced per active rider in bands, with a calculator on the Group page that works out your bill. Every Group starts with 60 days free.
